In July 2026, average weekly earnings for non-farm payroll employees in Canada rose 3.2% year-on-year to C$1,347, easing slightly from a 3.4% gain in June. The strongest wage growth was recorded in finance and insurance (9.9%), management of companies and enterprises (9.4%), administrative and support, waste management and remediation services (8.5%), arts, entertainment and recreation (7.4%), and utilities (4.9%). By contrast, earnings declined in forestry, logging and support activities (-3.1%), as well as in real estate and rental and leasing (-2.9%).

At the provincial level, Nova Scotia saw the largest annual increase in average weekly earnings (5.6%), followed by New Brunswick (5.3%) and the Northwest Territories (4.8%). On a month-over-month basis, average weekly earnings were largely unchanged in July, while average weekly hours worked held steady at 33.4.
