The annual growth rate of lending to Swedish households was 3% in February 2026, unchanged from January and remaining at its highest level since January 2023. Housing loans, which made up 83% of total household borrowing, increased by 2.9%, while consumer loans, accounting for around 6% of household lending, declined by 3.1%. Lending to non-financial corporations rose by 3.8%, up from a 0.3% increase in the same month a year earlier. Meanwhile, the average floating mortgage rate edged down to 2.64% in February from 2.66% in January, and the average fixed rate on new housing loans with maturities of 1–5 years fell to 2.90% from 2.98% the previous month. The average interest rate on new mortgage agreements also eased slightly, to 2.66%. On the funding side, household deposits amounted to SEK 2,891 billion, with 75% held in on-demand accounts.
